💡 What is GoCardless?

GoCardless is a trusted UK payment service used by thousands of organisations — including HMRC, Which?, and The Guardian — to collect Direct Debit payments.

When you join CyberTel, you’ll authorise GoCardless to take your monthly plan payment automatically from your bank account.

It’s fully regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and protected under UK law.

🧾 How It Works Step-by-Step

  1. Set up your plan — Choose your CyberTel plan and complete checkout.

  1. Authorise your Direct Debit — You’ll see a quick GoCardless authorisation form (takes less than 30 seconds).

  1. First payment — Collected once your SIM or eSIM activates.

  1. Monthly renewals — Payments are taken automatically every 30 days on the same date.

  1. Notifications — You’ll receive an email before each payment is collected.

💬 You can cancel your Direct Debit at any time through your bank or CyberTel Account.

🔒 Your Payment Protection

Every payment is covered by the UK Direct Debit Guarantee, which means:

✅ You’ll always be notified in advance of any payment.

✅ You can cancel your Direct Debit immediately at any time.

✅ If a payment error occurs, you’ll receive a full and immediate refund from your bank.

✅ You remain in control — only authorised payments are processed.

📆 When Payments Are Taken

  • Your billing date is set the day your plan activates.

  • GoCardless will collect payment automatically every 30 days.

  • If your payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, the charge happens the next working day.

💡 Your plan stays active the whole time — there’s never a service gap.

💳 Updating or Changing Your Bank Details

You can update your payment method anytime by visiting:

👉 CyberTel Account > Billing > Payment Settings

When you update your bank details, GoCardless will automatically link your new account to your existing Direct Debit — no interruption to service.

⚠️ If a Payment Fails

Don’t worry — this can happen for several reasons (insufficient funds, expired details, etc.).

Here’s what to expect:

  1. You’ll receive a payment reminder email from CyberTel.

  1. GoCardless will retry automatically within 48 hours.

  1. If still unpaid, your plan may pause — but you can reactivate instantly once payment is complete.
