π― Why This Step Matters
Your CyberTel Global eSIM is designed to activate automatically when you leave the UK.
To allow this, your phone must be set to switch mobile data between your UK SIM and your Global eSIM.
β If Mobile Data Switching is turned OFF, your Global eSIM will not activate abroad β even if it is installed correctly.
π± Enable Mobile Data Switching β iPhone (iOS)
Go to Settings
Tap Mobile Data
Tap Mobile Data Options
Tap Mobile Data Switching
Toggle Allow Mobile Data Switching β ON β
π‘ Your phone will now automatically choose the strongest network β UK SIM at home, Global eSIM when abroad.
π€ Enable Mobile Data Switching β Android
Menu wording may vary slightly by device brand (Samsung, Pixel, OnePlus, etc.)
Open Settings
Tap Connections or SIM Manager
Go to Mobile Data / Data Service Network
Look for Switch Data Automatically / Auto Data Switching / Dual SIM Data Switching
Toggle ON β
π¬ If you see Preferred SIM for Data, select Global eSIM / CyberTel eSIM and enable Auto Switch When Out of Coverage
π After Switching is Enabled
β In the UK β your UK SIM provides data
π Abroad in a supported Global eSIM country β your Global eSIM will automatically take over
πΆ If connection doesnβt switch straight away β toggle Airplane Mode for 10 seconds or restart phone
π¨ If Global eSIM Still Doesnβt Connect
Try these steps before contacting support:
β Ensure Mobile Data Switching is ON
β Check Data Roaming is ON for Global eSIM only
π Restart phone or toggle Airplane Mode
π« Do not remove the UK SIM or delete the Global eSIM profile
